Before leaving
Match the agreement to the booked price, driver names, protection, excess, deposit, fuel and mileage. Inspect in useful light and record a continuous walkaround plus close photos of damage, wheels, glass, roof, interior, fuel and odometer.
- Make staff record every discrepancy.
- Test lights, tyres and warning indicators.
- Save assistance and accident numbers offline.
At return
Refuel according to the written policy and keep the receipt. Photograph the complete vehicle at the agreed place with fuel and mileage visible. Prefer a signed return record; for an unattended return, retain the key-drop and timestamp evidence.
- Remove personal data from navigation and Bluetooth.
- Keep documents until deposit release.
- Challenge unexplained charges promptly in writing.
